Privacy Policy

Lark is a wake-up alarm app built to keep your mornings yours. We collect the minimum we need to run and improve the app — and the sensitive parts, like camera and microphone missions, never leave your device.
What we collect
- Usage analytics — which features you use and how (for example: an alarm was set, a mission was completed, a screen was viewed), along with device model, OS version, and app version. We use this to understand what works and improve the app.
- Crash and diagnostics reports — technical logs that help us find and fix bugs.
- Account information (optional) — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. Signing in is optional and skippable. If you have an account, some of your app data and usage may be associated with it, for example to sync or personalize your experience.
What we don't do
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- Lark shows no third-party ads and uses no advertising trackers or advertising identifiers.
What stays on your device
- Camera missions (item search, QR scan, exercise counting) process every frame on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Camera frames are never stored and never uploaded.
- Microphone & speech (spoken affirmations) use on-device speech recognition. Audio is never recorded or transmitted.
- Alarms, missions, streaks, and history are stored in a local database on your iPhone.
Third-party services
- Analytics — a third-party analytics service processes usage and crash data on our behalf.
- Apple — purchases and free trials are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Sign-in providers — Sign in with Apple or Google handle authentication if you choose to create an account.
Your choices
- You can use Lark without signing in.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account.
- To request access to or deletion of data associated with you, email alex@alexplisov.com.
Notifications
Alarm rings, backup reminders, and the nightly “alarm armed” check are scheduled locally on your device.
This website
lark.alexplisov.com uses Hotjar to understand how visitors use the site (page interactions, heatmaps, and similar usage signals) so we can improve it. See Hotjar's privacy policy for how they handle this data.
Children
Lark is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date, and the app will ask for any new permissions explicitly.
